Less than a week after revealing the title and release date for her upcoming album, the pop superstar returns with the project's first single that 'marks the start of a new season.'

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles is releasing her first single from her upcoming album "Renaissance" a little early. The pop superstar's new song was supposed to drop on Monday midnight, June 20 but it went up just before 10 P.M.

The new song arrived just hours after the 40-year-old star teased its existence by changing the bios on her social media pages, which read, "6. BREAK MY SOUL midnight ET." Pitchfork reported that the track "marks the start of a new season," and that the single is a "dance song that is intended to mark the start of a new era with new anthems."

It shouldn't surprise us that "Break My Soul" dropped three hours early on Tidal. According to the platform's credits, the dance song is co-produced by Bey, Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, and features the following hook from Big Freedia. "Release your anger, release your mind/Release your job, release the time/Release your trade, release the stress/Release the love, forget the rest," Big Freedia raps.

Jay-Z also has a writing credit on the song, which samples Robyn's 1993 pop classic "Show Me Love". Beyonce's forthcoming full-length offering "Renaissance" is set for a July 29 release. The title for the 16-song project also includes "act i", which could mean plans to share more "acts" after this initial release.

Of her collaboration with Beyonce, Big Freedia turned to social media to give a shout-out to her collaborator. "It feels surreal to be on the track with the Queen Beyonce," she wrote via Twitter. "Once again I'm so honored to be a part of this special moment. I'm forever grateful lord." After a smattering of emojis, she pleaded, "Someone please catch me."

More recently, Beyonce's mom Tina Knowles told Entertainment Tonight that Beyonce "put two years of love" into her upcoming album "Renaissance". Gushing over her daughter's new project in six years, Tina said, "I'm a fan too. I'm very, very excited."

"I just posted recently that I really miss her singing, and I do. I'm as excited as everybody else. I can't wait for you guys to hear it," Tina continued. "She put two years of love into this. Many, many nights [she spent] all night working. I can't wait for the world to hear it."

Last week, Beyonce teased a release date of her new album in her bio. It read, "act i, RENAISSANCE, 7.29." Shortly after, the official Spotify page on Instagram wrote, "The countdown has officially begun. Beyonce's back July 29." Apple Music, meanwhile tweeted, "@Beyonce's #RENAISSANCE coming July 29."

Of the promotional campaign, Beyonce is reportedly currently planning to stage a series of secret "pop-up shows" around the U.K. to celebrate the release of her new album. A source claimed that the "Love on Top" singer wants to mark it with a series of "intimate" performances before launching a large-scale tour later on.
