AceShowbiz - Maisie Williams has gotten herself two new friends. When talking about her experience attending the 2022 Met Gala, the "Game of Thrones" star spilled on how she bonded with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker at fashion's biggest night out.
During her appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airing on Thursday, May 19, the "Pistol" star was asked by host Jimmy Fallon about whom she met at the annual gala. "I was on a table with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker," she said, which prompted the host to gush, "Oh, they're fun! I love them!"
Elaborating more on the subject, Maisie confessed that she thought hard on how to start a conversation with Kourtney and Travis and on what would be a mutual interest between them. "I need to have an in to the conversation have something to say," she remarked, "Something interesting for them to know."
"The New Mutants" actress then revealed what she finally came up with for the conversation starter. "They did dress up as Sid and Nancy for Halloween two years ago, a year ago," she stated, "So then my thought was, 'I'm in a show and Sid and Nancy are in that show and I'm in it too, and so hi!' "
Maisie's technique apparently worked on her favor as she went on to declare that she has successfully become friends with Kourtney and Travis. " 'Great, yeah, we can't wait to watch it,' " the actress recalled their chat, "And that was it. We were best friends."
Aside from her newly-gained friendship with Kourtney and Travis, the "Two Weeks to Live" actress also talked about keeping her calm when meeting her favorite artist. Despite being a celebrity herself, she admitted that sometimes she still got starstruck when meeting other artists. "I really try to play it cool, try to not overdo it. But, sometimes that doesn't go to well," she said.
Recalling her own starstruck moment, Maisie shared a funny interaction with U2 frotnman Bono. "One time I was at a U2 concert and Bono was backstage, and everyone was gonna go say hi to Bono," the 25-year-old actress began her story.
"And I didn't want to be like, 'Hi, I'm Maisie. I know who you are.' But then I ended up being like, 'Hi, I'm Maisie, what's your name?' " Maisie continued, which garnered laughter from Jimmy and the audience, "I just sat there like… 'What are you doing?' I played it too cool."
