DJ Mustard Breaks Silence on Divorce From Chanel to Shut Down Cheating Rumors

Days after his estranged wife confirmed their separation, the record producer takes to Instagram Story to address 'these false narrative' about the cause of their split.

AceShowbiz - DJ Mustard has finally broken his silence on his separation from his wife Chanel Thierry a.k.a. Chanel McFarlane. Initially reluctant to address their divorce, the record producer feels the need to speak publicly on the matter after rumors swirled about the reason why they called it quits.

Making use of his social media account on Friday, May 6, the musician, whose real name is Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, denied that it's caused by infidelity on his or his wife's part. "It's one thing to have my family business on the internet," he began penning on his Instagram Story, "and of course I initially didn't respond cause I don't owe the public no explanation."

Shutting down the cheating allegations, he continued, "but I do owe my family to clear these false narrative that @chaneldijon cheated that's out and that never happened ! Also the I fake dealt with my stylist come on now we all know that's a joke I'd never touch that girl EVER .."

Mustard also asked people to respect his family privacy, noting that they have three kids that are big enough to read the gossips. "at this time man we just trying to deal with our family matters privately we've shared 12 years together so I'm sure y'all can respect this," he implored. "ain't easy issue we just ask for privacy im human with kids old enough to read if y'all can't respect us at least respect that."

Mustard reportedly filed for divorce from Chanel in the Los Angeles County Courts on Monday, May 2 in the Los Angeles County Courts. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. He is asking a judge to order joint legal and physical custody of their three kids, whose ages range from 2 to 10.

After the news broke, Chanel confirmed their split through Instagram Story. "Thank you for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers," she wrote on Tuesday. "Anyone that followed me or knows me personally knows my family means the world to me," she added, before opening up about her feelings, "I've [dedicated] 12 loyal years and it is more [than] heartbreaking to see things end."

Mustard and Chanel had been together for years, as he started dating the model when he was 19 years old, before they got engaged in 2018. They tied the knot in October 2020 at a big wedding which was attended by some big music stars such as Ella Mai, Bow Wow and Joie Chavis.
