Kailia Posey Was 'Struggling' Before Suicide, Friends 'Did Everything' to Help

After family of the 'Toddlers and Tiaras' alum revealed the 16-year-old made a 'rash decision' to end her life, a pal of the star confirms that 'she was struggling with a few things' before her death.

AceShowbiz - Kailia Posey's pal has shared a little insight into what had probably led to her decision to end her life. After her family revealed she died of suicide, a friend of the late teen confirmed that she was indeed "struggling" before her untimely passing.

"We knew she was struggling with a few things," the so-called close friend tells Page Six, "and we all did everything we could to encourage her and help." The friend, however, didn't detail what's exactly Kailia had been dealing with, adding, "We didn't know what was going on."

The pal was full of praises when talking about Kailia, describing her as a "role model" and a "big name in a lot of different places." The friend additionally said the former "Toddlers & Tiaras" star died on May 1.

Kailia's mother Marcy Posey Gatterman broke the news of her sudden passing on Facebook on Monday, May 2. "I don't have words or any thoughts," she wrote, along with a picture of her late daughter smiling in a sparkly dress which she wore to a prom last month. "A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever."

Her stepfather Steve Gatterman later issued a statement in which they revealed the manner of her death. "Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life," read the statement.

They also begged with "members of the national media…please stop calling, texting, and messaging. Please stop bugging our friends and family" as they "have no further statement." They ended it with a message that read, "If you or someone you know is contemplating ending their life, help is available. Reach out to family, friends and/or the National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 800-273-8255."

The death is currently under investigation by multiple Washington agencies.
