The Barbadian singer, who is currently expecting her first child with the A$AP Mob member, also reveals that their relationship became more serious amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna has offered a glimpse of her relationship with A$AP Rocky. The "Umbrella" hitmaker, who has been friends for a long time with the "Good for You" rapper before becoming romantic partners, admitted in a new interview that she initially made it hard for him to escape the friend zone.

"People don't get out of the friend zone very easily with me," the 34-year-old beauty said when sitting down with Vogue. "And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in."

Rihanna and Rocky had their first encounter at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. At that time, he joined RiRi for a performance of her hit "Cockiness". "He grabbed my a** on stage," she recalled. "That was not part of the rehearsal! I was like, 'What are you doing!?' "

However, Rihanna was not mad at Rocky and she decided to let it go. "My manager was like, Oh, God, she must like this guy a little bit. She never lets this shit slide," the singer, who's currently expecting her first child with the A$AP Mob member, recounted.

The "Home" actress went on to note that they became more serious amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "He became my family in that time," she said. "I cooked our food on this little janky grill I bought from Walmart. I still have it, too. It works like nobody's business."

"I love the simple things but also the grand adventures. There's no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bulls**t, it's just us living," the Barbadian musician further elaborated. "I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side."

"What I love the most about us? Transparency with everything: how we're feeling, what our goals are, what our fears and insecurities are," RiRi gushed. "The vulnerability to be able to say what you feel about each other."
