The biopic, which narrates the life of Serena Williams and Venus Williams' father Richard Williams, additionally earned Reinaldo Marcus Green the Emerging Director award.

Jennifer Hudson, meanwhile, was hailed as Best Actress for her portrayal of Aretha Franklin in "Respect". Also picking up an acting award was Corey Hawkins, who nabbed Best Supporting Actor for playing Macduff in "The Tragedy of Macbeth".

Winning Best Screenplay category was "Don't Look Up", which is directed by Adam McKay. "Who We Are" won Best Independent Feature award, while "Summer of Soul" was honored as Best Documentary.

The winners will be celebrated at a ceremony on March 2. The event is set to take place at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, California with a limited capacity audience and health and safety protocols.
