When guest-hosting 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', the 'Level Up' hitmaker is getting emotional after the former Fifth Harmony member praises her for being a role model.

AceShowbiz - Ciara is getting emotional after being praised for her influencing career. The "Level Up" songstress was left in tears as Normani Kordei thanked her for being someone she has "looked up to forever."

When guest-hosting "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, December 30, the Texas-born singer was applauded by Normani. "That really meant a lot to me for you to be able to share that moment, you know?" Normani told the Grammy-winning singer. "You're somebody that I've looked up to forever."

"I've always felt like representation was so key and being a little girl in my grandmother's living room learning the '1, 2 Step' and 'Goodies'," Normani continued explaining. The former member of Fifth Harmony added, "Literally, the earliest memories that I have, you were a part of that."

Normani gushed, "You really helped shape the artist and the woman that I felt like I could be." The "Motivation" singer went on praising Ciara, saying, "You really opened my mind to those possibilities."

The heartfelt revelation successfully touched Ciara. "Don't make me cry!" the 36-year-old RnB artist responded, patting underneath her eyes as she started to well up. She then said, "That is so awesome. Thank you. That means a lot. Sorry guys, I got a little emotional."

In addition to praising Ciara, Normani opened up about releasing the music video for her hit song "Wild Side" featuring Cardi B earlier this year. She also shared what her parents thought of the racy clip.

"I was so scared, to be honest, to show the record to my dad," Normani told Ciara. "Me and my mom, we're cool, we can have certain conversations, but my dad… I was avoiding showing him the record." Though so, Normani said that the video "was cool," before pointing out that she channeled the "Goodies" singer from her 2007 music video for "Like a Boy".

Ciara rocked the music world with the release of her debut album "Goodies", which has sold over 3 million copies in the states, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. During her nearly two-decade career, Ciara has racked up eight top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including her No. 1 hit "Goodies".

As for Normani, this wasn't the first time she's been vocal about getting inspiration from her musical influences. She previously unveiled that Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland helped her through a "challenging" time almost a year and a half ago when she started to fall out of love with music.

"So many things around music can kind of jade the experience and how you feel toward that thing that you really love to do," Normani said in November. "She kinda helped me get back to that and my initial purpose in music."
