The power forward is cleared to play for the Lakers again after he had been placed on COVID protocols since Tuesday because he had recorded a positive coronavirus test despite being fully vaccinated.

AceShowbiz - LeBron James has been declared free of COVID, just two days he had recorded a positive coronavirus test. He is now cleared to play for the Los Angeles Lakers again, so the NBA announced on Thursday, December 2.

"Following two negative PCR tests conducted more than 24 hours apart, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has cleared the NBA's Health & Safety Protocols," the league said in a statement. "James was originally placed in the Protocols on Tuesday, November 30 after a series of tests delivered conflicting results, including an initial positive test that was collected on November 29."

The league additionally said it believes that LeBron's initial testing was a false positive. "Additional testing confirmed that he is not a positive case," the league stated. According to ESPN, LeBron tested negative eight times since Saturday.

Following the announcement, LeBron didn't hold back in raising a question about the mystery of his positive test results. "Something is REAL [fish emojis] going on," he tweeted on Thursday.

LeBron had been placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols since Tuesday, November 30 after he tested positive for COVID using a lateral flow test, ahead of the Lakers game against Sacramento Kings. He was given a follow-up PCR test to confirm the diagnosis, but the test came back negative. He was then given a third tie-breaker test, which came back positive. The power forward was then chartered a private jet so he can fly back to Los Angeles and had to miss the game against Kings.

He was initially expected to miss three to four games in the protocols. Under the NBA rule, players who test positive must either sit out 10 days or submit at least two negative PCR tests before returning to game action.

LeBron has been fully vaccinated despite initially being reluctant to get the jab. "I know that I was very skeptical about it all," he said in September. "But after doing my research and things of that nature, I felt like it was best suited, not only for me but for my family and my friends. And that's why I decided to do it."
