Lorenzo Lamas is mourning the death of his mom Arlene Dahl. Expressing his condolences, the Reno Raines depicter on "Renegade" dubbed his mom the "most positive influence" in a touching tribute he shared on his social media page.
On Monday, November 29, the 63-year-old actor took to his Instagram account to share the heartbreaking news. Along with a close-up photo of the red-haired actress, he wrote, "Mom passed away this morning in New York. She was the most positive influence on my life."
"I will remember her laughter, her joy, her dignity as she navigated the challenges that she faced. Never an ill word about anyone crossed her lips," Lorenzo added. The "Falcon Crest" alum continued to praise his mom as saying, "Her ability to forgive left me speechless at times."
Lorenzo went on to say, "She truly was a force of nature and as we got closer in my adult life, I leaned on her more and more as my life counselor and the person I knew that lived and loved to the fullest." The "Snake Eater" actor then sent his support to Arlene's husband, "My sympathies go to her loving husband @marcrosennyc who, for the last 37 years, made her life so wonderful and joyous," before concluding his post, "Love you mom forever [love] #ArleneDahl #Moviestar #legend #mom #RIP."
Arlene was 96 years old. The cause of death has not been reported. Besides Lorenzo, the "Journey to the Center of the Earth" actress is survived by her husband Marc Rosen, two other children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The actress was born in Minneapolis. She started her career as a model and worked in theater before coming to Hollywood in 1946. She was briefly under contract at Warner Bros., then signed with MGM.
Her first MGM film was "The Bride Goes Wild", starring Van Johnson and June Allyson. She went on to appear in "Reign of Terror", "Three Little Words", "Woman's World", "Slightly Scarlet" and "Journey to the Center of the Earth". Her other films included "A Southern Yankee", "Scene of the Crime", "Desert Legion" and "Jamaica Run", which starred Fernando Lamas, her late husband.
While still working as an actress in TV and films, Arlene founded Arlene Dahl Enterprises in the mid-1950s and sold lingerie and cosmetics. She was also a beauty columnist. After leaving the acting business, she worked as an executive in advertising for Sears' Roebuck & Co and founded a perfume company.
