AceShowbiz - Jared Leto has set the record straight on the gifts that he gave to his "Suicide Squad" co-stars. When addressing the matter, the actor portraying the Joker in the 2016 superhero film insisted that he didn't cross any lines by sending them bizarre presents.

The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman offered his clarification when speaking to Entertainment Weekly. "Any of the very few gifts that were ever given were given with a spirit of fun and adventure and received with laughter, fun, and adventure," he claimed. "It's all filmed! They filmed it all! People were dying. We were just having a goof."

Describing himself as "the good boy" on the set of the movie, Jared explained, "The only gifts I ever gave [Margot Robbie] were cupcakes." He added, "I think I gave her a mouse, and some of the other guys got gifts that you'd get as a joke at a party."

"I'm playing a guy called the Joker, it's okay to play some jokes. Nothing ever crossed any lines, and it's not up to other people on the internet to create those lines," the 49-year-old elaborated further. "I'm an artist at the end of the day. If I do something risky and you don't like it, basically, you can kiss my a**."

Back in 2016, Jared divulged that he gave everyone condoms and anal beads. "I did a lot of things to create a dynamic to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there," he told E! News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. "The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries."

At that time, Will Smith and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje jokingly confirmed Jared's claims. "He went full Joker. And the rule, generally, is to never go full Joker. But, he went all in. He really set the tone. He wasn't playing with it," Will said, while Adewale declared that he received "sticky Playboy magazines."

Now, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jared made it clear that the story about him sending the gag gifts was "99.9 percent" bulls**t. He emphasized that "there were no used condoms" or salacious presents given to his "Suicie Squad" co-stars.
