The 'Nine Perfect Strangers' actress loves being a temporary teacher for her children while they were stuck at home during Covid-19 lockdown last year.

AceShowbiz - Funnywoman Melissa McCarthy has really enjoyed one part of the COVID pandemic - teaching her kids maths while they were stuck at home.

The "Nine Perfect Strangers" star admits she found unexpected joy in helping her girls with their sums and really found her stride as their temporary teacher.

"I really love it. I don't know why. It feels like something where you get a prize at the end of it; like when you get it right. I think that's why I love a crossword puzzle, too. I really enjoy the process of it," she tells OK! Magazine.

Her daughters Vivian, 14, and Georgette, 11, whom she shares with actor/writer husband Ben Falcone, were less thrilled with mum's lessons though.

"I mean, it was really trying with all the Zoom schooling, but I think I enjoyed teaching maths to my youngest too much. I really got into it. I made slide shows and they were like, 'Oh my God, just wrap it up, McCarthy,' " she adds.

In another interview, the actress revealed her parenting secrets. She used reverse psychology on her kids, agreeing with their wild and crazy ideas just to remove the shock factor.

Recalling the moment her daughter showed her newly-dyed blue hair, the star said, "She (Georgette) wanted me to be like, 'This is outrageous!' I'm like, 'Great! We can shave half of it off.' "

She continued, "If I just keeping being like, 'Do more...,' they'll get so bored with it. Now that I'm announcing my reverse psychology, I just screwed myself."
