The bass player insists he is 'perfectly content and happy' after being dumped by his rock bandmates following allegations he groomed an underage girl for sex.

AceShowbiz - David Ellefson is "perfectly content and happy" with his life, despite being fired from Megadeth earlier this year (21).

The heavy metal stars announced in May (21) that they would part ways with Ellefson, following allegations that he groomed an underage girl for sex.

In a new interview with Aftershocks TV, Ellefson confessed he's happy with the way things are currently going for him and is enjoying the freedom to make the music he wants.

"I've been active - I've been active making records and doing stuff these last bunch of years anyway," he said. "And I wouldn't say out of necessity, because, honestly, I've been okay to not have to just go make music for money, but to make music for fun, which has been nice."

"It's fun to create for creation's sake and not because it has to be motivated from anything else. So I guess I'm kind of glad to just be right where I'm at. To be honest, I'm perfectly content and happy where I am right now. I'm not gonna lie, it's perfectly fine. So I'm all good."

Ellefson previously denied the sexual misconduct claims, insisting his sexually explicit interactions with the woman, who was not underage, were "private and personal." He claimed details of their meeting were only released with "ill intention" by a third party who was not authorised to have access to them.

He has since filed charges against the person who leaked the video online.
