AceShowbiz - NeNe Leakes has opened up about a setback in Gregg Leakes' health. Breaking the news that her husband's cancer returned two years after he was declared cancer-free, the former star of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" asked for strength and prayers.

During an Instagram Live with theJasmineBrand on Monday, June 28, the 53-year-old shared, "He's been in the hospital, tomorrow will be a week." She went on to ask her fans and followers to send their love and support to her and her husband. "This is the first time I'm saying something about it. I'd love everybody to pray for Gregg...pray for his strength...and pray for me, too," she said.

Elsewhere in the live session, NeNe explained that Gregg had to undergo a surgery. "I'm sure he'll be home in about a week or so. He had to have a surgery," the former Bravo star stated before noting that the 66-year-old "had this surgery before."

NeNe went on to explain her husband's condition. "It's difficult," the TV personality shared. She admitted, "He's super small. If you've ever been around somebody who's had cancer before, he's different. He's different."

In May 2019, NeNe revealed that Gregg, who was battling stage 3 colon cancer, was cancer-free. At the time, she shared the exciting news by posting a picture of her husband smiling and holding up a hand-drawn sign that read, "No cancer found. Praise God." In the caption of the snap, she penned, "Look at God! We are over joyed to say, we saw the doctors for the results of Gregg' Pet Scan he took last week! Test show, wait for It…..WE ARE CANCER FREE!!! Yes God!"

NeNe first disclosed that Gregg was battling cancer in June 2018. Opening up about his health struggles, the reality star posted a photo of her husband, who is a real estate developer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and wrote in the caption, "Our New Normal and the fight begins #f**kcancer."
