The Fenty beauty mogul reveals that she had a panic attack and almost called off her red carpet appearance at the 2015 Met Gala in her iconic yellow dress.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna almost bailed on hitting the red carpet at the 2015 Met Gala in her statement yellow gold dress and huge train, because she felt like "a clown."

The "Diamonds" hitmaker was already considered a fashion icon before the high-profile event, but she stole the show when she stepped out at the New York ball wearing an elaborate fur-trimmed cape gown by Chinese designer Guo Pei, which weighed about 55 pounds (25 kilograms) and featured a train which required three handlers to escort the singer up the steps to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The stunning look landed Rihanna atop best-dressed lists worldwide, but the Bajan beauty confesses she had a last-minute panic attack about the unique ensemble - and that was partly why she was so late in making her grand entrance.

"That night, the choreography of getting in the car and getting out, like, we had to choreograph it," she recalled to U.S. news show Access Hollywood. "Who sits at the door? Where does the coat go? Where do I sit?"

"I remember being so scared to get out of that car because I felt like, 'I'm doing too much.' I was driving past the red carpet, and I was just seeing, like, (designer) gowns, and I was like, 'Oh my god, I'm a clown. People are going to laugh at me. This is like, too much.'

"I thought that. I circled like, three times, I'm not even joking. And finally, I was like, 'Whatever, let's go. Let's just go. Let's just go.' "

Looking back, Rihanna is glad she didn't have a change of heart because she has no regrets about her bold fashion decision. "The frying pan with the egg? Legendary, legendary!" she smiled.
