Through a heartbreaking YouTube video, the 'Bachelor' couple open up about the complications she suffered when pregnant with their second child together less than a year after welcoming a daughter.

AceShowbiz - Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham have gone through a heartbreak. A little over a month after learning that they were expecting their second child together, the couple who met each other on season 22 of "The Bachelor" shared with their fans that they didn't get the happy story they had hoped for.

Through a video posted on their YouTube channel, the twosome revealed on Saturday, May 30 that Burnham had suffered a miscarriage. "This isn't our typical positive vibes type of video," the 28-year-old mother of one announced after sharing a clip of her trying to prank her husband by doctoring her pregnancy test, only to find out that she was really expecting.

Their first doctor visit, however, left them concerned since her ultrasound showed their baby looking to be only about five weeks when it should have been around eight. "We were really confused by that," she admitted. "But our doctor assured us that it could be a number of things and not to panic about it."

A follow-up appointment showed that the baby did not grow as it should have been, prompting Burnham to say, "It's not the easiest news to take in." When they went to the doctor again on May 28, the pair learned that she had a missed miscarriage, meaning that the embryo has died, but her body does not recognize the loss.

Reacting to the sad news, Luyendyk said, "It's been a roller coaster of emotions going from scared at first a little bit because it was so soon, then happy, then stress and worry for weeks on end, and then obviously today was the bad news." He added, "It's consumed our thoughts for the last month. It's been hard holding this back from everybody."

Burnham chimed in, "I was really excited to tell you guys that we were pregnant, and I feel like this is the best way for us to tell the whole story." Despite their heartbreak, her husband remained positive as he told fans, "Hopefully the next time you see a video with the word pregnancy it's positive and it's good news. We'll get through this."

In the video description, the couple dished, "A little over a month ago, we got the most exciting news and we found out that we were pregnant with our second baby." They continued, "We made so many plans. We bought a new house with more space, we planned how we wanted to tell you all and we envisioned our future with Alessi's little brother/sister."

On the reason why they shared the story publicly, the reality stars explained, "We decided to share this part of our journey with you, because well, we share everything with you! But also because we hope that by talking about this we can make other couples going through these times a little less lonely."

Luyendyk and Burnham tied the knot in January 2019, nearly a year after he broke up with Becca Kufrin and proposed to her on "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose". Four months later, the two welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Alessi Ren.
