On Sunday, May 3, registered nurse Whitney Hilton revealed that she came home to find a handwritten thank-you note from the "You Need to Calm Down" singer along with a collection of her "Lover" merchandise.

"I need to PUBLICLY THANK TAYLOR SWIFT @taylorswift @taylornation13 @treepaine for sending me a box full of Merch ; a PERSONALIZED LETTER from Taylor herself for my 30th birthday/for going to NYC to help as a nurse," the Utah nurse tweeted along with pictures of her surprise gifts. "This was quite literally the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE."

In her personal letter to Whitney, Taylor expressed her gratitude for the 30-year-old's selfless act in time of crisis. "I wanted to send you some presents and to let you know I am so grateful for you," her note read. "I can't thank you enough for risking your life to help people and for spreading the message loudly that people need to hear about taking this seriously."

The singer girlfriend of actor Joe Alwyn added further, "Also, I saw the photo of you from my show! Thank you for coming! I would love to give you a hug next time and thank you in person." She signed of her heartfelt letter by simply writing, "With love and admiration, Taylor."

Whitney received the homecoming presents when she came back home after helping out at Northwell Health's Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. On April 19, the registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital chronicled her 2,200 mile journey to help caregivers in the Big Apple via a blog post published by Intermountain Healthcare.

"This is a humbling experience," she kicked start her story. "I have so much to say but almost too overwhelmed to say it all. New York has been hit HARD. The people need help, the nurses need help, the doctors need help, everyone needs help. This is crisis mode like I've never seen. This is an incredible experience, albeit the hardest thing I've ever done AND equally the most rewarding."

Describing the battle against the novel coronavirus as "a modern war," Whitney noted, "I'm trying to give you all a real picture of what it's like here because this isn’t about ME; this is to show you how REAL COVID-19 is & how SCARY it is." She added, "One thing I want to SCREAM from the rooftops is that if you could see what we see here, you'd do ANYTHING humanly possible to prevent it."
