The former 'EastEnders' actor reveals in a new interview that he 'had a massive heart attack a couple of years back' that made him take roles that really appeal to him nowadays.

AceShowbiz - "Layer Cake" star Jamie Foreman suffered a heart attack and almost died in 2018.

The actor, who is the son of notorious London gang boss Freddie Foreman, has finally opened up about his health scare, telling The Sun he thought he was dying.

"I had a massive heart attack a couple of years back and nearly pegged it," Foreman, 61, says, revealing the near-death experience "put everything in perspective".

"All the years and energy I'd spent stressing about work and now I think, 'I've been there, done that'."

Now he runs a clothing store with his partner, former model Julie Dennis, and only takes roles that really appeal to him: "I wasn't terribly well a few years ago and it made me really reappraise things, so I'm in a transitional period," he told The Sunday Times. "I've been sort of struggling on the work front. I'm only working if something nice comes in."
