AceShowbiz - "The Carol Burnett Show" star Lyle Waggoner has died at the age of 84.
The Kansas native passed away on Tuesday morning (March 17) after battling an undisclosed illness, reports TMZ.
Waggoner was famed for his seven-year stint on variety series "The Carol Burnett Show", appearing alongside leading lady Carol Burnett in a series of sketches and serving as announcer until 1974.
He went on to star in the TV adaptation of "Wonder Woman", taking on the role of Steve Trevor, and his son, Steve Trevor, Jr., from 1975 to 1979.
His other credits include episodes of "Gunsmoke", "The Love Boat", "Fantasy Island", "Murder", "She Wrote", and "The Golden Girls", while the actor was also one of the finalists to tackle the lead in the "Batman" series, losing out to Adam West for the iconic superhero role.
Waggoner was known for his sex-symbol status and in 1973, became the first male seminude centrefold for Playgirl magazine.
He was also the founder of popular customised trailer firm Star Waggons.
