Earlier in the interview, Victoria Mather also criticizes Markle, saying that she doesn't want to stay in the royal family because she doesn't want to be 'second-best' to sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently made their final appearance as royals and that unsurprisingly was covered in the media with MSNBC Live being one of them. The network featured a British journalist Victoria Mather as a guest, who later sparked outrage for her comments on the Duchess of Sussex.

Asked about the final official engagements undertaken by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Mather said, "I think what has really, really upset the British public is that Meghan Markle, who many people consider only, you know, five clicks up from trailer trash, has actually tried to disrespect the queen." She, however, didn't provide instances of the alleged "disrespect" that Markle did to Elizabeth Queen II.

"And the queen is the most respected person--most respected woman--in the world," Mather added. Looking stunned by the remarks, the show's anchor Lindsey Reiser quickly ended the interview.

People were enraged after the clip of the interview went viral. "What did I just hear? Racist #VictoriaMather just said Meghan Markle was five clicks up from trailer trash. @VanityFair is this who you want representing your brand?! Fire her now! #MeghanAndHarry," one angry fan tweeted. "If anyone is trailer trash it's YOU @mather_victoria," added another fan.

Someone also urged MSNBC not to bring Mather again as a guest. "You owe your audience and Meghan Markle a sincere apology for even allowing Victoria Mather on your show to offer her racist tirade.@VanityFair ... she needs to be fired," another one blasted the show. Another comment read, "Thank you for having on Victoria Mather MSNBC London office this morning. Interview was COMPLETE validation Meghan and Harry made the right choice to leave Royal Family. Ms. Mather needs to retire because she is terminally sick with vitriol. Her comments were evil."

Earlier in the interview, Mather also criticized Markle, saying that the "Hollywood celebrity" didn't want to stay in the royal family because she didn't want to be "second-best" to sister-in-law Kate Middleton. "I don't think Meghan Markle wanted to spend the rest of her life looking at Kate Middleton's back as she sat in the second row to the future queen. I don't think she wanted -- she didn't want to be second best," she said.

Mather also alleged that Markle gave Middleton "a knife for Christmas," before adding while laughing, "Which is quite something, isn't it?"

This is not the first time for Mather to call Markle "trailer trash." She previously wrote in an article for Air Mail, "Meghan comes from a sadly dysfunctional family, leading to her being unpleasantly trolled as trailer trash." Additionally, she dubbed the former "Suits" actress the "Duchess of Excess" in the same article.
