The fashion mogul has been accused of 'decades-long sex-trafficking scheme' by ten women, but his spokesman claims the raid was a result of his feud with tycoon Louis Bacon.

AceShowbiz - Fashion mogul Peter Nygard's New York offices were raided by police officers on Tuesday (February 25) as part of a sex trafficking investigation.

NYPD cops and FBI agents took over the company's Times Square headquarters and left with cardboard boxes full of files and documents.

Nicholas Biase, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan, has confirmed the raid took place but he refused to give further details.

Nygard has been under investigation for months after several women accused the 78-year-old of sexually assaulting them at his estate in the Bahamas, sources told The New York Post.

Earlier this month, 10 women filed a federal lawsuit against Nygard and his company, accusing the businessman of a "decades-long sex-trafficking scheme."

Lawyers for the women claim they have "over 100 witnesses" and "dozens of victims" willing to testify.

Nygard's spokesman blamed the raid on his feud with tycoon Louis Bacon, who owns a Bahamian estate neighboring the Canadian's spread.

"As with the other actions taken as a result of Louis Bacon's conspiracy, Nygard is not surprised by this latest action," the spokesman said.

"Nygard welcomes the federal investigation and expects his name to be cleared. He has not been charged, is not in custody and is co-operating with the investigation."
