An unidentified woman has claimed that the late 'Super Freak' hitmaker raped her when she was just 15 years old and was staying at a group home in Buffalo, New York in 1979.

AceShowbiz - A woman is suing the late singer Rick James' estate for $50 million (£38.4 million), alleging he raped her when she was just 15 years old.

According to the Associated Press, the unidentified plaintiff claims the "Super Freak" hitmaker raped her while she was staying at a group home in Buffalo, New York, in 1979.

She has filed a lawsuit under New York's Child Victims Act - new legislation that extends the statute of limitations for child sex abuse survivors - on Thursday, February 13, against the James Ambrose Johnson Jr. (James' real name) 1999 Trust, run by the late star's estate.

In her lawsuit, the woman alleges James was visiting one of the parents at the group's home and came into her room after dinner and raped her.

"Rick James came into my bedroom and swiftly laid on top of me," she states in the lawsuit, also obtained by Pitchfork Media. "He grabbed my hair and pushed my head into the pillow."

"I tried to fight him off, but he told me, 'Shut up and quit moving or I'll cut you.' He violently ripped off my underwear and proceeded to violent rape me and ejaculate inside of me."

James, a Buffalo native, was convicted of assaulting two women in 1993. The first case occurred in 1991, when prosecutors said he and his girlfriend tied a woman to a chair, burned her with a heated crack pipe and forced her to perform sex acts. The second assault occurred in a hotel room when he was on bail in 1992. He served more than two years in prison for the crimes.

The funk star was found dead in his Los Angeles home in August 2004 after suffering from heart failure.
