AceShowbiz - Jane Fonda did her bit for sustainable fashion at the 2020 Oscars on Sunday night (February 09), by slipping into a dress she'd previously worn six years ago.
The 82-year-old actress looked stunning in a red Elie Saab gown as she walked the red carpet at the Academy Awards, with fans quick to point out the "Grace and Frankie" star had first sported the dress at the 67th International Cannes Film Festival in 2014.
Switching up the look slightly for the Oscars, Jane opted to wear her hair in a pixie cut and added a slick of light lipstick rather than the wavy 'do and red pout she'd gone for Cannes.
Completing her Academy Awards look, Jane accessorised with Pomellato jewellery, explaining in a post on Instagram that she opted for items from the label because "it only uses responsible, ethically harvested gold and sustainable diamonds."
Jane wasn't the only star to recycle a look for the Oscars.
Elizabeth Banks also opted to give a pre-loved gown another outing as she attended the Vanity Fair after-party wearing a scarlet Badgley Mischka dress.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the bash, Elizabeth revealed she had first worn the ensemble at the magazine's party back in 2004.
"I'm upcycling this dress - I wore this dress for the first time to Vanity Fair in 2004," she explained. "And, we very rarely get a dress gifted to us. Badgley Mischka made this dress for me. Back then, I was in Seabiscuit, which was a big Oscar nominee, and they gave it to me and I recently moved and found it in the back of the closet."
"And it still fits! So, I'm wearing it on the carpet tonight. Very excited to be wearing a dress, recycling a dress from 16 years ago."
