The wrestler-turned-actor is overwhelmed with emotions as he delivers an emotional speech at his father's funeral before the Johnson patriarch is laid to rest.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne Johnson paid tribute to his late dad, wrestling pioneer Rocky Johnson, as he fought to hold back tears at his funeral on Friday, February 7, 2020.

Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne previously revealed his dad died of a "massive" heart attack last month, January 2020 at the age of 75 and, as he was laid to rest, The Rock delivered an emotional speech to those close to the late star.

"I wish I had one more shot to say goodbye, say I love you, say thank you," he began, in a clip shared to Instagram.

The "Jumanji: The Next Level" actor goes on to share how he found out that his father died, and honours the hard-working man he was, before explaining how his father, and his grandfather, were trailblazers in their industries and fought for racial equality.

Giving his final statements, Dwayne shared, "I wish your soul at rest and at ease. No more pain, no more regret."

After asking for "a second" to gather himself and acknowledging, "I'm so happy he had friends, a place like this to come to," the star concluded, "This isn't goodbye. This is just, I'll see you down the road. We'll see you down the road."

Captioning the post, he penned, "Dad, you lived a full and meaningful life... You trail blazed and even harder, you changed people's harsh behaviours toward a man of colour."

"I wish I had one more shot. To say one more thing. You were taken too fast. Slipped right through my hands. But you were so loved, lived so full, defined culture and now you rest high. Peacefully. And that makes my heart smile."

He added, "I love you and now I have an angel to call by name. I’ll see you down the road, Soulman. Til we meet again. Your son."
