The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' actress decides to open up on her health issue because it will eventually come out in her legal battle against insurance company State Farm.

AceShowbiz - Actress Shannen Doherty is fighting stage four cancer - three years after she went into remission following a battle with breast cancer.

The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star, 48, had been private about fighting the cancer for a year because she wanted to prove she was able to work, after appearing in the standalone season of the rebooted show, "BH90210".

"I don't think that I've processed it," she said during an interview on U.S. TV show "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. "It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, 'Why me?' And then I go, 'Well, why not me? Who else besides me deserves this?' None of us do."

The star went on to confess she only confided in a small group of people, which included co-star Brian Austin Green.

"I had moments of great anxiety where I thought, 'I can't really do this,' and Brian was the one person who - of that group of people that knew - that I told, like, pretty quickly and said, 'Here, the - this is what I'm dealing with," she explained.

"So prior to shooting he would always call me and say, 'Listen, you know, whatever happens, I have your back.' He would look at me and be like, 'We got this, kiddo'… So Brian helped me through a lot."

Admitting she's "petrified," Shannen said she came forward with her diagnosis as it would come out in court documents, in a lawsuit she is filing against insurance company State Farm, in relation to an alleged unpaid claim for damage to her home following the Woolsey fires in California in 2018.
