The 'Lollipop' hitmaker reveals he made last minute edits to his new album 'Funeral' to make a room for a tribute to the NBA hero following his sudden passing.

AceShowbiz - Lil Wayne has rushed to the studio to include an honour to late basketball legend Kobe Bryant on his new album, "Funeral".

The rapper added 24 seconds of silence to track number eight, "Bing James" featuring Jay Rock, on his 10th studio offering to pay respect to the sports hero, who wore the numbers 8 and 24 on the back of his jersey as a team star on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Lil Wayne gave a shout out to producers who worked tirelessly to edit in the tribute just hours before "Funeral" reached fans on Friday, January 31, 2020 during a morning interview on the Fox Sports 1 "Undisputed" television talk show.

The star also explained the fact that "Funeral" has 24 tracks is purely a coincidence.

Bryant passed away last weekend, January 26, 2020, aged 41, in a devastating helicopter crash that also claimed the life of his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Seven other people also perished in the Calabasas, California accident.
