James Norton Reacts to Claim of Him Being the Top Pick as the Next James Bond

Words have spread around that the 'Little Women' actor was involved in talks regarding the role in late 2019, with plans to unveil him as Daniel Craig's replacement over the summer.

AceShowbiz - James Norton has denied recent reports he's in advanced talks to succeed Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

Earlier this month, British newspaper The Sun reported the "Little Women (2019)" star had been involved in talks regarding the role late last year, with plans to unveil him as Craig's replacement over the summer.

However, the actor tells British newspaper The Times that he's in the dark over whether he's top of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli's list of potential 007's.

"It's crazy. It's not real. It's speculative," he says. "There is no truth behind it. Unless journalists know something more than I do. It's bizarre and quite flattering to be even considered in that world, but beyond that? Pure speculation."

However, the 34-year-old makes no secret of his admiration for the films and adds that he would love to get inside the mind of the British superspy.

"I love the franchise and hope Barbara Broccoli continues to make it relevant. Going into the heart of Bond's private world, as opposed to one-liners, is already progress," he explains. "But there is more to be made, so future casting in all roles is going to be important. I don't know how you do that, because I'm not Barbara Broccoli."

The latest Bond film, "No Time to Die", is believed to be Craig's last and will debut in cinemas in April.
