The 'Fosse/Verdon' star, who is currently pregnant with her and fiance Thomas Kail's first child together, says that she's taking a break from acting to be at home.

AceShowbiz - Michelle Williams is taking a break from acting. When attending the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 19, the actress portraying Gwen Verdon on "Fosse/Verdon" revealed she has not taken any job offers for 2020 since she is preparing for the arrival of her child with director fiance Thomas Kail.

Speaking to reporters at the event held in the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, the 39-year-old actress confessed, "I haven't taken a job since [Fosse/Verdon.]" While touching her baby bump, she added, "I have something else I have to go do. I'll be home, but it's a hard act to follow."

During the chat, the former "Dawson's Creek" star expressed concern that she would not get such "challenging" role as the one she had on the FX series again. "I've never played somebody that age before of someone from 30 to 64," she said. "There was singing, dancing. It was such a feast and knowing where to go from here, I feel a little bit stuck. Like, I want that job again. Like, Gwen in her 60s or something. I miss it."

For her portrayal of Verdon, Williams has been collecting a number of coveted trophies this award season. It helped her claim her first SAG award win after being nominated six times before. In her acceptance speech, she gave a sweet shout-out to her daughter, "Matilda, it is one thing to be completely honest as an actor, it is another to be completely honest as a human being. That is just who you are and how you live. You teach me by being you."

When speaking to the press backstage, the pregnant actress also shared a message to young female actors. "I hope this isn't bad advice, but the advice I have is to not take advice from business people, be true to yourself and follow the instincts and urges that arise uniquely inside of you," she said. "Do the thing that only you can see."

Williams is expecting her first child with Kail. News of her pregnancy and engagement surfaced less than a week before the couple made their red carpet debut at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. The baby will be Williams' second child. She has a 14-year-old daughter with late actor Heath Ledger.
