AceShowbiz - Barack Obama is not shy of making the world know how much he adores his wife. On Friday, January 17, the former President celebrated Michelle Obama's 56th birthday by posting playful pictures of them on social media along with a sweet tribute.
Uploaded on the 58-year-old's Instagram handle, the black-and-white pictures appeared to have taken in a photo booth and saw him showering the former First Lady with kisses. As accompaniment to the collage, he wrote, "In every scene, you are my star, @MichelleObama! Happy birthday, baby!"
Barack's post was quick to draw positive reactions from his followers, collecting over 6 million likes since it was shared publicly. It has also brought in comments from many celebrities, including Queen Latifah, Camila Cabello, Yara Shahidi and Ilana Glazer. Michelle, in the meantime, kept her response simple as she replied with the face blowing a kiss emoji.
Hours later, Michelle took to her own Instagram page to express her gratitude. "Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes! With the girls off at college, this birthday brings with it a new perspective - a fresh breath - along my journey," she captioned a photo of her with five friends posing in front of a rainbow.
"I'm looking forward to devoting some quality time to my friends and to myself - and of course, to that husband of mine, too," the mother of two continued. "I'm looking to make this year the best one yet - can't wait to keep you all posted along the way."
Barack has apparently made it a tradition to present his wife with a sweet birthday tribute. Back in 2018, he posted a romantic shot of him staring lovingly at her. "You're not only my wife and the mother of my children, you're my best friend. I love your strength, your grace, and your determination," his caption read. "And I love you more each day. Happy Birthday, @MichelleObama."
One year later, the politician made use a throwback photo that saw them as a young couple. Along with it, he declared, "I knew it way back then and I'm absolutely convinced of it today - you're one of a kind, @MichelleObama. Happy Birthday!"
