AceShowbiz - Madame Tussauds have removed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle likeliness from royal family display in London. The move was made after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would step down as "senior" members of the British royal family.
Their wax figures were originally placed next to Queen Elizabeth II and husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles and wife Camilla, as well as Prince William and his Duchess Kate Middleton. They have since been placed somewhere else in the museum.
"Alongside the rest of the world we are reacting to the surprising news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be stepping back as senior Royals," said Steve Davies, the General Manager at Madame Tussauds London.
"From today Meghan and Harry's figures will no longer appear in our Royal Family set. As two of our most popular and well-loved figures they will of course remain an important feature at Madame Tussauds London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for the them."
Harry and Meghan's decision to step away from the British royal family was met with mixed response. Piers Morgan was one of their loudest critics. He called them "the two most spoiled brats in royal history." He added, "What a disgraceful way to treat The Queen. Shame on Harry & Meghan."
Meanwhile, Jameela Jamil applauded the couple. "And that folks, is what power looks like," she tweeted. Bette Midler wrote, "What a sad story. They hounded and bullied her until it was no longer tenable to stay, just like Diana. They'll never learn until it hits them in the wallet."
Andy Cohen invited the Duke and the Duchess to join his reality show on Bravo, "Open invite for The Duchess to joining #RHOBH (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)."
"The Daily Show" welcomed them with a "we're hiring" note. In addition, its host Trevor Noah joked, "You see, this is what happens when you bring the first black woman into the royal family. She looked at Harry and was like, 'N***a, you need to get a job! You a grown-a** man, you can't still be living in your mama's house, Harry!' "
