Just hours after announcing her break from the micro-blogging site, however, the 'Truth Hurts' hitmaker declares, 'Confidence is comin back...' in an Instagram post.

AceShowbiz - Lizzo is parting ways with Twitter, at least for now. The rapper announced on Sunday night, January 6 that she's taking a break from the micro-blogging site after receiving too much hate from other social media users.

"Yeah I can't do this Twitter s**t no more.. too many trolls...," she tweeted, adding a peace-hand emoji. The 31-year-old star hinted that her absence from Twitter would only be temporary though as she added, "I'll be back when I feel like it."

Lizzo, however, isn't completely shutting down social media. Just hours after announcing her Twitter hiatus, the "Truth Hurts" hitmaker took to another platform, Instagram, to show that she still keeps her positive attitude.

Sharing a slow-motion clip from her performance at Sydney Opera House, she wrote in the caption, "Confidence is comin back... it's over for u troll b***hes..."

Lizzo took over the famed venue for her concert on Monday night, during which she turned the gig into a fundraiser as she collected donations for Australia's bushfire relief effort. Ahead of the show, she revealed plans to have donation buckets set up around the venue.

She told fans on Instagram Live, "I'm urging everyone who comes to my show tonight to donate to the firefighters, to the koala sanctuaries, the Australia Red Cross, and just to people who lost their house (sic)." She added, "I'm a firm believer in all of us being connected and all of us part of this planet, and a global citizen."

Her Sydney gig aside, Lizzo is no stranger to being the victim of Internet trolls. Back in December 2019, she clapped back at a critic who claimed that her popularity isn't because of her talent but because people's glorification of obesity and that fans have been lying to her all this time.

The critic posted on Twitter, "#Lizzo popular is because there is an obesity epidemic in America. Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are. Unfortunately, Many of these people are dying from diabetes and heart disease." He also slammed her performance on "Saturday Night Live", comparing her to a slave.

The "Juice" raptress later tweeted back to the hater, "I'm popular because I write good songs and I'm talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you. Keep my name out ya mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me. Here's the attention you ordered."
