Upon learning that the Louisiana sports reporter's last post featured lyrics from one of his songs, the 'Back Home' singer sends words of condolences to her family via social media post.

AceShowbiz - Singer Andy Grammer has been left saddened by the plane crash death of a Louisiana sports reporter after learning her final Instagram post had featured lyrics from one of his songs.

Carley McCord was one of five people killed on Saturday, December 28 when the small plane she was travelling on crashed shortly after takeoff from Lafayette Regional Airport. A sixth passenger was also left seriously injured.

Grammer has since taken a moment to pay tribute to McCord, who had been a fan of his tunes and had shared the words to his track "Keep Your Head Up" online moments before the tragic accident happened.

He honoured the 30-year-old reporter by posting footage of himself performing the hit, and captioned it, "I just opened Instagram to see that a sweet girl had passed in a plane crash. She was a fan and her last post in her story was a lyric to my song Keep your head up (sic). We are all so connected."

Grammer then shared a video message addressed to her loved ones: "To the McCord family, I am so sorry about your daughter," the musician said. "I am with you. I love you."
