AceShowbiz - To close out the year, Jazz Jennings is getting candid about her own body. The reality TV star proudly showed off the scars that she received from her gender confirmation surgery back in June 2018, and she was praised for her move.
Jazz took to her Instagram account to flaunt her scars for the first time. In the photos, the "I Am Jazz" star was seen modeling a maroon one-piece that revealed the marks on her upper thighs. "These are my scars on full display," she wrote alongside the pics. "I'm proud of my scars and love my body just the way it is. I call them my battle wound because they signify the strength and perseverance it took to finally complete my transition."
People immediately jumped to the comment section to shower Jazz with love, including "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Peppermint who wrote, "Work beauty! Body!" Meanwhile, "Vanderpump Rules" star Billie Lee said, "So strong! So beautiful!" As for her mom, she called Jazz "the strongest and bravest of all the souls I've ever known and I'm blessed to be your mom. Your scars are just as beautiful as you and the rest of you. I love you with all that I am."
"Love you Jazz. You are a model of courage, strength, perseverance most of all, LOVE," someone commented. Another raved, "You are literally the absolute most gorgeous young trans woman EVER. Such a huge inspiration to everyone of the transgender youth. Keep doing you!" There was also one who told Jazz, "Wear them proud girl. YOU EARNED YOUR WARRIOR SCARS!!!"
Jazz was assigned male at birth, but was diagnosed with gender dysphoria by age 5, making her one of the youngest publicly documented people to be identified as transgender. She underwent gender confirmation surgery in June 2018. While the surgery was successful, she suffered complications that required another follow-up procedure.
