AceShowbiz - Jazz Jennings' dramatic weight gain has caused her some issues with her family. As seen in a sneak peek for season 7 of her reality series "I Am Jazz", the YouTube personality admits to experiencing fat-shaming from her own inner circle after gaining 100 pounds.
"I do experience fat-shaming from my family," she says in the trailer. The 21-year-old admits that her family's judgment makes her feel bad as saying, "It makes me feel really humiliated."
In the trailer, Jazz begs her loved ones to be more compassionate as she implores, "I'm out of shape. Be easy on me." She then comes clean in a confessional, "Having all this extra weight, I can't do so many things with my body that I used to be able to do."
While Jazz feels uncomfortable with the way her family treats her, her grandma Jacky insists that she doesn't "judge" the transgender activist for her weight gain. Jacky explains that she is "just shocked" by her granddaughter's transformation.
Meanwhile, Jazz's mother Jeanette believes that her daughter "falls off the wagon" and suggests that the young star refuses to admit it. "Even when we think we're doing something right, she falls off the wagon," Jeanette says.
Later, Jeanette confronts her daughter for "making empty promises" to prioritize her health. "You're like, 'I got this. I can do this. I'm gonna change,' " she says, to which Jazz replies, "I can tell you that it's different now because it's now or never. It's now or never at this point."
Elsewhere in the video, Jazz describes her changed eating habits "I was actually struggling severely with mental health issues. I started binge-eating and I gained weight and more weight and more weight. And now, almost 100 pounds heavier, here I am today," she says, adding that her typical breakfast includes "fast food, maybe a doughnut or two and then maybe two bagels."
Jazz first addressed her 100-pound weight gain in a June Instagram post. Showing her bare belly in a before-and-after photo, she stated that she's going to "hold myself accountable" and that she's "ready to change my ways."
"I've been saying I'm ready to turn over a new leaf, but I'm running out of trees now," she further promised, "I'm ready to take the initiative and create positive changes when it comes to my health and body."
