AceShowbiz - Wilmer Valderrama surprised his mum by buying her the house next door to his.

The "That 70s Show" star has often spoken of the sacrifices his parents made by selling everything they owned in Venezuela before moving their family to the U.S. when he was 14, but he never dreamed he'd be able to give back with the surprise of a lifetime.

Sharing video of the moment he tells his mother about her really big gift on "Live with Kelly and Ryan", Valderrama choked back tears.

"That almost made me cry again, that was crazy," he shared of the clip, in which he walks down the street holding his mum's hand, points to the house next to the one he owns, and says, 'This house is yours.' "

Convinced her son is teasing her, Wilmer's mum, Sobeida, snaps, in Spanish, "You liar! Ah no, this is all a joke. Don't mess with me!", before realising he's not joking and asking, "Seriously? Seriously?"

"As you all know, it's a dream, right?" Valderrama added, addressing the studio audience. "You come to this country and you work really hard and you wake up in the morning and you hopefully mean well, right? And all of a sudden, you wake up and you can do that. America!"

Now that his mum has moved in, he's not at all worried she's too close to home.

"It's amazing, I love it. In fact, she still yells at me for leaving shoes on the floor."

He does admit that having mum next door can be "a very weird dynamic", stating, "I was telling someone backstage... and they're like, 'Oh you're living with your mum?' I said, 'Well we have a bush in between us..., she's also a bush away."
