The 'Legally Blonde' actress is 'hurt' by 'nasty' criticisms that she received over a video of her goofing off with her son Arthur in a car on their driveway.

AceShowbiz - Selma Blair fought back tears as she hit back at trolls who criticised her over a video she posted on Instagram.

The "Legally Blonde" actress shared the clip on Monday, December 9 morning of herself and her son as she backed up on their driveway, in which she squawked, "I'm making a video!" repeatedly while her son Arthur, eight, laughed and looked embarrassed from the back seat.

However, the clip prompted an onslaught of criticism, with users slamming the star for recording a video while driving, causing Selma to share a second video addressing the situation.

"I'm gonna make a video. I posted a video today - just how I am in a moment, having fun with my son as he cringes," she said. "And there were a couple of really nasty people, and it hurts."

The "Storytelling" actress rebutted the negative commenters who accused her of being unsafe while her son was in the car.

"There are so many other smiles and people that got it and knew I was being safe and not driving, as I'm on my driveway. And it just really hit me. So for all the people that get one of their three feelings hurt by someone online... it doesn't matter," she explained.

She added, "But it does, because I'm crying."

The clip comes amid rumours Selma, 47, is engaged to boyfriend David Lyons, after she was spotted wearing a massive new rock in Los Angeles.

She previously wed writer and producer Ahmet Zappa, son of musician Frank Zappa, in 2004. The couple split two years later. She also shares Arthur with fashion designer Jason Bleick, who she dated from 2010 to 2012.
