In an episode of his podcast, the 'Love and Hip Hop: New York' star says he believes that there is a 'lack of growth' in the songstress' music as her songs are often about relationships.

AceShowbiz - Joe Budden is not feeling Jhene Aiko's new music at all, and per usual, he's not afraid to let his opinion be known by the masses. In a recent episode of his self-titled podcast series, the ex-rapper said how he believes that there is a "lack of growth in her music" as the songstress' singles are often about relationships.
"I love n***as that keep the same content for a time and I love n***as that keep the same sound for a long, long time. You just have to be [good at both and grown within that,]" so he said in the episode, before one of his co-hosts argued that her songs are "deep vibes." However, Joe felt otherwise. "No, it be deep vibes about a n***a that she's madly in love with that she's not necessarily feeling at the moment."
He continued pointing out, "That is what all of them are about. Let's not change the content by saying it's deep. It is deep, but it's all that type of deep. ...I'm only speaking about all of the Jhene songs that have been released that I have purchased, and the lack of growth in the music. With every song that Jhene Aiko releases, in my opinion, she falls lower and lower on the list of the women that make that type of music."
Jhene has yet to respond to Joe, though a lot of people have come to her defense. "This n***a had one hit trying to criticize other people music gtf out of here," one said of the "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star. "He should be the last person on earth to talk about growth," another commented, as someone else roasted Joe, "Now Joseph u r almost 40 and there's no growth in ur networth or the way u think or act..." One person, meanwhile, thought Joe is a worse hater than Charlamagne Tha God.
"Jhene's music is for a specific mood. And specific audience. Not everyone is going to like it but those who do, love it," an individual defended Jhene, while another wondered, "Why do y'all ask this clown his opinion on music when he can't even put out anything that sells?" There was also someone who said, "For him to not be doing much but talking s**t about other female artists, he need to take a seat."
