AceShowbiz - Fans of "Game of Thrones" might remember the infamous coffee cup blunder in one episode of the hit HBO show's season 8. Fans noticed that a Starbucks coffee cup was left on a table in plain sight and it didn't take long the picture of that particular scene went viral. And now, star Emilia Clarke is revealing the identity of the person who is responsible for the blunder.
Appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday, October 30, the 33-year-old British actess first talked about how her co-star Sophie Turner placed the blame on her during his appearance on the show. "Yeah, I heard. I heard what's up."
"Here's the truth," Emilia said to Jimmy Fallon, setting the record straight. "We had like a party before the Emmys recently, and Conleth [Hill], who plays Varys, who's sitting next to me in that scene, he pulls me aside and he's like, 'Emilia, I've got to tell you something. I've got to tell you something, love. The coffee cup was mine!' It was his! It was Conleth's coffee cup. He said so."
Emilia, who played Daenerys Targaryen on the fantasy series, continued saying, "He said, 'I think it was, I am sorry, darling. I didn't want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you.' And I was like, 'What?!' "
"I didn't have very much to do in that scene," she went on saying. "I think that's who did it. He might have been drunk, but he said it."
During the episode, Emilia also talked about the newly-announced "Game of Thrones" prequel titled "House of the Dragon". She said that she didn't know anything about the new show, and whether or not her character would do a cameo.
HBO announced on Tuesday that it had ordered "House of the Dragon" from George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal based on Martin's "Fire & Blood" series. It is set 300 years before the events of "Game of Thrones", focusing on the story of the House of Targaryen.
"The 'Game of Thrones' universe is so rich with stories," said Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming. "We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan and George."
