John Mayer Wins Five-Year Restraining Order Against Alleged Harasser

The 'New Light' singer has accused an overzealous fan of sending him messages with reference to infamous serial killers as well as threatening him with physical violence.

AceShowbiz - Rocker John Mayer has been granted a five-year restraining order against a man he has accused of harassment.

The "Daughters" hitmaker obtained a temporary protective order back in August after the overzealous fan made him feel uncomfortable by sending the star messages, in which he referenced infamous serial killers.

Mayer also claimed the guy, who allegedly began pestering the musician in March, threatened him with physical violence, and showed up at an event he was due to attend in North Carolina in a bid to come face-to-face with the singer.

Mayer appeared in a Pasadena, California courtroom with his lawyer on Tuesday, October 22, to testify against the defendant as the judge agreed to make the temporary restraining order permanent, reports The Blast.

As a result, the alleged stalker must now stay at least 100 yards (91.44 metres) away from the 42-year-old and his home for the next five years.
