The 'You're Beautiful' singer announces on live television show 'Good Morning Britain' that he's looking for kidney donor to save his sick father Colonel Charles Blunt.

AceShowbiz - James Blunt used his interview on live U.K. TV show "Good Morning Britain" on Wednesday, October 23 to plead for a kidney donor to help his gravely ill father.

The "You're Beautiful" singer told viewers he'd made the decision to appear on the programme to ask them, "What blood group you are," in a bid to help his dad, Colonel Charles Blunt, find a match.

"Some things have been going on in my life that I needed to write about," James explained. "My father has not been very well actually. He needs a new kidney. And he's a kidney donor. And I've come on here to ask you what blood group you are. If you are an O-positive I'll take it off you."

James added that due to having a different blood type, he's "not a match."

The 45-year-old explained that to help him cope with his dad's stage four chronic kidney disease, he's been turning to his music, and penned a song for his parent on his new album, "Once Upon a Mind".

"Really that has been an amazing moment," an emotional James said. "Because when you realise your father's mortality it's a great opportunity to say the things I'd like to say to him."

"So I have written a song called Monsters for him. It says I'm not your son, you're not my father, we are just two grown men saying goodbye. No need to forgive, no need to forget, I know your mistakes and you know mine."
