AceShowbiz - James Blunt, 50, has expressed his frustration with Noel Gallagher, 57, for being "two-faced" after the latter moved away from him in Ibiza. Speaking on the "How to Fail with Elizabeth Day" podcast, Blunt revealed that Gallagher had sold his home because he could no longer tolerate Blunt's music.
"I bumped into Noel Gallagher the other day," Blunt said. "He'd said he was leaving Ibiza and selling up his house because he couldn't handle me writing my s*** songs down the road from him."
Blunt emphasized that Gallagher's behavior was inconsistent, as he was always polite to him in person. "Whenever I see him, he's really sweet to my face. I think everyone's sweet to each other's faces," Blunt said. "It's just with the courage of a microphone and a journalist and trying to show off a little, they'll do something different."
The incident highlights Blunt's history of being criticized by other musicians. Paul Weller and Damon Albarn have also publicly expressed their disdain for his music. Blunt dismissed Weller's comments, but elaborated on Albarn's refusal to be photographed with him on the show "Later With Jools Holland."
"Damon apparently refused to be in the same picture as me... Suddenly where they kept me back in my dressing room and they kept saying, you can't come out and they were being really shady with me," Blunt described. "And then they took the photo and then they said, 'okay, now you can come out' as Damon walked off and got in his car and then they took a second photo with all the musicians except Damon."
Despite the criticism, Blunt claims that property prices increased in Ibiza after Gallagher left the area, suggesting a positive impact from his presence.
