AceShowbiz - This is surely the kind of collaboration that no one would have expected. Despite promising Adele to keep their upcoming project a secret, Nicki Minaj has revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she has teamed up with the British superstar on a song.
Speaking to the publication at the launch celebration for her new fashion line, Fendi Prints On, in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, October 15, Nicki expressed her excitement over their upcoming collab. She said, "Adele made me swear to secrecy that I'm not allowed to tell anyone that I'm working with her. And that we already shot a video. And it's an epic song!"
Further details about the song, such as its title and release date, are still unknown as of now.
Learning of the upcoming collaboration, fans of the musicians were immediately sent into frenzy. One person simply exclaimed, "OMG," as another wrote, "Adele's first collab (if music) with a female rapper is with the Queen of rap, talk about having standards." Someone still couldn't believe it and wrote in all caps, "OMG TELL ME THIS ISN'T A JOKE!!!"
Some others already predicted that the forthcoming song would top the chart and become Nicki's first chart-topping single. "The amazing thing is that Adele doesn't have a feat to this day !!! Just as Nicki was the first female artist to appear on a rihanna album, nicki will be the first and only artist to collaborate with Adele! F***ing legendary too!"
The new song aside, Nicki surely had a lot of fun during the launch party for her Fendi collaboration. Joined by her lover Kenneth Petty, the Trinidadian star took time to chat with attendees and posed for the camera in a metallic net dress that she wore over matching bikini. She additionally brought a silver handbag from her collection.
Talking about her collaboration with the fashion brand, Nicki told ET, "I am so grateful to everyone at Fendi. My work and relationship with them has been ideal since the day I went out there to meet with them. I'm honored, of course. It's Fendi! It's a big freaking deal! And I had no idea by saying 'Fendi' my song that it would turn into a line, and thank God it did."
