AceShowbiz - It appears Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" look isn't so original. Drag queen Farrah Moan recently weighed in on the singer's lawsuit against Forever 21, claiming that Ariana's look in the music video was also stolen from her.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, September 4, Farrah shared a side-by-side photo of her and the "Bang Bang" singer rocking similar outfits, a glittery silver bodysuit and a matching necklace. Both Farrah and Ariana also dyed their hair pink, with the "RuPaul's Drag Race" star rocking a shorter do while the Nickelodeon alum styled her locks into a double half-up bun.
Referring to Ariana's lawsuit, Farrah wrote along with the photo, "Ariana should give me a cut of that 10M since her team literally sent a pic of me to the designer and paid them to copy my look from as4. (Finally met the designer and got told the Tea) I guess stealing from queer artist for profit is fine tho."
Farrah then followed it up with a GIF of Ariana saying, "U like my look? Gee thanks, just stole it!"
Fans of Ariana have come to her defense, pointing out that the star had been rocking the look since 2014. Some even called her an attention seeker and stressed that the one at fault was her team, not Ariana. Farrah actually agreed with this, but "the point is her team also stole. U can attack me all day but it's not gonna change everything. I can admit I was petty with that gif I posted& I'll apologize for that but at the end of the day they did what they did. Idc about suing anyone, just needed to put this out there."
Earlier this week, Ariana filed a lawsuit against Forever 21 and alleged that the fashion retailer launched an ad campaign that falsely made it look like she was backing the brand. According to court documents, the singer claimed that Forever 21 stole imagery and music from her "Thank U, Next" album and used a look-alike model to reenact scenes from her music videos.
She is now seeking at least $10 million in damages.
