Meanwhile, the 'Panini' rapper's country crossover single itself is two weeks shy of breaking the 'Fantasy' hitmaker's 'One Sweet Day' record of 16 weeks atop Billboard Hot 100.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey has offered to help Lil Nas X break her U.S. singles chart record by remixing his hit "Old Town Road".

The rapper's country crossover hit has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks, helped along by multiple remixes, including one featuring country superstar Billy Ray Cyrus.

The track is now two weeks at the top away from breaking the record held by Mariah and Boyz II Men collaboration "One Sweet Day", which spent 16 weeks at number one following its 1995 release.

The 20-year-old sent out a tweet to the pop diva on Friday, July 12, asking her to consider appearing on a new remix of his song to boost his chances of breaking her record.

"ok mariah carey lets get this remix in," he wrote, a tweet that prompted a response from the pop diva, who wrote that she'd be up for combining their two tracks into a "One Sweet Town Road" remix.

Lil Nas, real name Montero Lamar Hill, was delighted with her response, writing: "LETS GOOOO".

As well as Billy Ray, remixes of the track have already featured singer/yodeler Mason Ramsey and Young Thug. Pop rockers Smash Mouth have also offered to collaborate on a new remix, replying to a Lil Nas tweet that stated his desire for a new remix by simply writing, "let's do it."
