Archie's christening will be held privately in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday with the Sussexes promising to share some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton.

AceShowbiz - Saturday, July 6 will be one of Meghan Markle's big days as her and Prince Harry's son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is going to baptized. People expect that in addition to the royal family members, Meghan's family and best friends will attend the private ceremony. However, Serena Williams, one of the Duchess' pals, has just revealed that she will not attend the event.

But don't take it wrong, the 37-year-old tennis star would be happy to be part of the royal festivities if it's not because of work. "No, I'm working on Saturday," the athlete said to reporters during a press conference on Thursday. The seven-time Wimbledon winner then added that Meghan "understands work."

Serena also said that she knew that her bestie made an appearance at Wimbledon to cheer her on. "Yes, I knew she was there," the athlete told reporters. "It's always exciting to know that she's come out to watch and support the tennis. I was happy."

Archie's christening will be held privately in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

"Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday, 6th July," read the statement. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton."

Through the statement, the royal couple also shared that they would not reveal Archie's godparents. "The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private," said the statement. This is different from what Prince William and Kate Middleton did with their kids since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed the identities of their children's godparents to the general public.

Meghan previously showed support for Serena by making a surprise appearance at the annual London tournament on Thursday. The Duchess of Sussex joined her pals Lyndsay Roth and Genevieve Hillis to watch the second round match between the American superstar and her Slovenian competitor Kaja Juvan.

Serena came out as the winner in the match. She initially dropped the first set, but rallied to beat Juvan 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
