Sampling Valerie Simpson's 1972 song 'Benjie', the unreleased track also features an audio clip of David Schwimmer from 'The People V. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story'.

AceShowbiz - Eight months since the death of Mac Miller, an unreleased song from the late rapper has surfaced online. Titled "Benji the Dog", the song samples Valerie Simpson's 1972 song "Benjie", which Lil Wayne and Drake previously sampled on their collaboration "With You".

The beginning of the song features an audio clip of David Schwimmer from "The People V. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story", on which the actor played Robert Kardashian. He is heard saying on the song, "He's always going to be the juice," before Miller takes over the song to rap about the struggles that he faced with his mother and how drugs eased his pain.

"They told me don't make a promise you can't keep/ All the drugs in your system, you can't sleep/ How many times you had to buy a Plan B/ For a girl you never bring back home to meet your family," he spits. "Man, I swear this is what I dream about/ Ever since my mom told me that she need me out/ Always smoke weed, causing troubles, never clean the house/ But I paid her back for everything, I guess we even now."

The leak of the unreleased song has since been removed.

Miller died in September 2018 at his Studio City home due to drug overdose. Following his death, his family has hosted a tribute concert for the late rapper and released two posthumous covers as a part of Spotify Singles series.

While his estate has yet to unveil other posthumous releases from the rapper, there have been rumors going around that Madlib has a collaborative EP with the "Donald Trump" spitter. The former recently confirmed the existence of the EP, but stated that he had no plan to release it as the effort reached no definite state of completion.
