AceShowbiz - "Wonder" star Jacob Tremblay will voice the lead character in a sci-remake of Charlie Chaplin's film "The Kid".
"The Kid: An Animated Adventure" is set in a futuristic New York City, which has been flooded and split into two. Tremblay's character runs away from home seeking adventure Downtown and encounters Chaplin, a robot with a human soul.
Christian Volckman is directing from a script co-written by Rupert Wyatt and journalist and author Boris Starling.
Tremblay will next be seen in "The Shining" spin-off, "Doctor Sleep", opposite Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson (II).
The original Chaplin film hit cinemas in 1921.
