Merrill Osmond admits he doesn't know the severity of the 'Long Haired Lover from Liverpool' hitmaker's condition since his younger brother only allows his wife and children to be around him.

AceShowbiz - Jimmy Osmond and his doctors have banned his brothers from seeing him as he recovers from a recent stroke.

The "Long Haired Lover from Liverpool" hitmaker, 55, was taken ill while performing in pantomime in Birmingham, England in December (2018) and has been recuperating at home in the U.S.

His brother Merrill Osmond, 65, tells Britain's Daily Express newspaper that Jimmy is not taking visits from him or his other siblings Alan Osmond, Virl Osmond, Wayne Osmond, Jay Osmond, Donny Osmond or Marie Osmond, who once formed the family group The Osmonds.

"He's hurting pretty bad," he explains. "He's in the States but doctors won't even let the family in on it yet. The severity of it - none of us know. It's the way his family wants it. Jimmy has been through a lot and he just wants to be all by himself right now. We're all giving him space. It's just his wife and his children with him right now."

Their other brother Tom has been on life support since undergoing heart surgery last July.

Father-of-four Jimmy was rushed to hospital after falling ill but completing a performance of "Peter Pan" at the Birmingham Hippodrome on December 27.

Shortly after the stroke, a source close to Jimmy told MailOnline that he was comfortable but was, "looking forward to a few months of self care".

The stroke is not the first the youngest Osmond brother has suffered; he was hospitalised 15 years ago after a stroke caused by a congenital heart defect.
