FX Network president John Landgraf explains that decision to delay filming has to be taken since the network wants to focus more on the quality rather than quantity.

AceShowbiz - The third season of Donald Glover's hit TV drama "Atlanta" has been delayed due to scheduling issues.

Glover, who is also known as rapper Childish Gambino, is currently on his "This Is America" tour and TV bosses have decided to postpone filming to let him finish and take care of other undisclosed personal issues.

"We have so many programs that don't cycle back on an annual basis," John Landgraf from TV network FX says. "You have to make a decision about quality over quantity and we're erring on the side of quality."

"Donald Glover is sort of the king of all media, and he just has had an incredibly complicated life. He's had personal things he's had to deal with, from injuries to other things I'd rather not say publicly that just have to do with not with his personal life but his extended family."

It is unclear when filming will resume, but the delay will make the show ineligible for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards. The acclaimed series has won a total of five.
