Although he has explained that he is raising his children with knowledge of fire arms, many still find it appropriate for a 7-year-old to be introduced to guns from such a young age.

AceShowbiz - Pink's husband Carey Hart has come under fire online once again after sharing video footage of their seven-year-old daughter learning how to use a rifle.

The former motocross professional has frequently found himself heavily criticised by fellow social media users after posting pictures and videos of his family outings, but, judging by his latest upload, it appears he has embraced the role of antagonist.

Carey took to Instagram on Wednesday, January 30, to show off a clip of little Willow, who was wearing protective earmuffs, asking about the safety catch before firing the gun, revealing he has been teaching her the basics for the past four years.

"Haven't poked the parent police bear in a few days," he quipped as he began his caption.

"Willz and I shooting the 22 rifle. She is getting pretty good. Can hit a 12 inch pie plate from 30 yards," the proud dad wrote. "Started her shooting at 3yrs (years) old. For the record non (sic) of us hunt, just enjoy shooting for sport."

"I'm raising the kids with knowledge of fire arms, how to handle them, shoot them, store them, and avoid them in uneducated hands. #knowledgeispower."

While many fans applauded his reasoning for the shooting lessons, some of Carey's followers didn't think it was appropriate for the little girl, and attacked him for introducing Willow to guns.

"The few that had respect for you, is nowa (sic) gone," wrote one, while another lamented, "As a Canadian, this culture of loving guns completely boggles my mind. Why does one ever need to use a gun? So confused about how something that symbolizes violence and fear needs to be taught to children????"

However, Carey refused to back down from the controversial subject, and hit back, "I think this is an extremely important topic of education."

He then took aim at another Instagram user who suggested Willow might lose control of the rifle and accidentally hit her father, to which Carey replied, "You're completely ignorant".

Hart, who also shares two-year-old son Jameson with Pink, most recently faced a backlash for taking their family dirt biking without what some claimed was the proper safety equipment, and the pop star poked fun at the constant parent shaming by mocking critics with a snap of their boy with his face covered in chocolate.

"Chocolate is good for babies right?," she wrote. "Help me Instagram, we can't possibly parent without you."

The couple recently celebrated its 13th wedding anniversary.
