AceShowbiz - The next "Fast and Furious" movie may get more star-studded with Jason Momoa joining the cast ensemble. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that he and the "Aquaman" actor have been talking about the latter's potential involvement in "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw".
Hinting that he and the "Game of Thrones" alum share the same interest, the "Moana" star said in a comment on Instagram, "Me and Momoa tried hard to get him in this movie to play my brother. But his schedule was too packed."
While Momoa's busy schedule didn't allow him to star in "Hobbs & Shaw", Johnson makes sure that the "Justice League" actor would appear in the next movie. "Next Hobbs movie for sure," he assuringly added.
"Hobbs & Shaw" centers on Johnson's former Diplomatic Security Service Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham's criminal-turned-ally Deckard Shaw. Idris Elba has joined the cast as the main villain named Brixton.
While plot details are still kept under wraps, Johnson recently teased that the movie would feature "the biggest showdown the FAST & FURIOUS franchise has ever seen." In a picture from the movie he shared on his Instagram page, his character is seen leading a group of Samoan men who are running into a battle, armed with various kinds of tools as weapons.
He recently also introduced Hobbs' brothers. "My name is Luke Hobbs and these are my four brothers," he explained. "They all live in Western Samoa where they own and operate 'Hobbs Customs' - a former illegal chop shop, now a legit business where they build and deliver vintage custom cars all over the world."
Helen Mirren, Vanessa Kirby and Eiza Gonzalez also star in the upcoming movie, which is directed by David Leitch. The film is set to bow in U.S. theaters on August 2.
